AShabaab claim responsibility of Kenya cross-border attack

Gunmen carried out cross-border attack in the Kenyan coastal town of Lamu on Friday night.

Islamist militant group, Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility of the attack in which they said they have taken six people and two vehicles into Somalia.

Senior Al-Shabaab commander talked to by Newsday 24/7 have confirmed it’s commandos crossed the border from Somalia into Kenya and carried out the mission successfully in Lamu without any confrontations from what he called ” the enemy infidels” ( Kenyan security forces ).

The commander speaking on condition of anonymity didn’t say or identified the people they took away and what sort of people they were.

Two residents confirmed to newsday 24/7 that one of the hostages was a Kenyan CID member but we couldn’t independently verify this confirmation.
