Kenya sent its troops into Somalia in 2011and has been battling the Islamic militants in Somalia since then. The militants retaliated in Kenya with sporadic grenades attacks and assassinations, the deadliest being the Westgate mall siege that left 67 people dead and many more injured. The militants have since sworn to execute even more deadly attacks thus prompting the Kenya security forces to be extra vigilant.
